Food science jobs focus on improving agricultural efficiency, food health and safety, nutrition, and food production processes. You can work at a university, for a large food producer, on a farm, or as part of federal or state government agencies, such as the USDA or the NIH. The term sometimes also refers to gastronomy, which is a growing trend in the food service industry.
