You also need experience with customer service or quality assurance. You can find service designer jobs at design agencies and large corporations with in-house design or quality assurance teams. Freelancing as a service designer is another option. You need excellent observational skills, the ability to collect useful data, and an understanding of interpersonal interactions to be an effective service designer.
