How do you become a landman?

Becoming a Landman usually begins with a college education in land management or energy management. Several universities offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees in those fields. Some companies may be willing to hire and train a Landman with no formal education. Certified Landmen are likely to have a better job outlook and earning potential. The American Association of Professional Landmen offers three levels of certification: Registered Landman (RL), Registered Professional Landman (RPL) and Certified Professional Landman (CPL).
