Are clinical exercise physiologists doctors?

Clinical exercise physiologists are not doctors. The educational requirements for this career are entirely different than those needed to become a physician. However, CEPs work very closely with doctors to assess patients needs and progress and to verify that an exercise program is not dangerous to the patient. Clinical exercise physiologists usually work in a medical setting, like doctors. The other segment of the field of exercise physiology is applied exercise physiology, which focuses on non-medical fitness, such creating regimens for athletes.
