JOB DESCRIPTION
Referees team sports (Soccer), encourages sportsmanship and encourages children to build their confidence through sports.
Referees team sports (Soccer), encourages sportsmanship and encourages children to build their confidence through sports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrives 10 minutes prior to your first game
- Look over the field/court to make sure everything is safe for the children to play on.
- Begin each game with the Coach's Prayer
- Call the games fairly. No favoritism!
- Enforce sportsmanship and de-emphasize winning
- Let the participants know what they did wrong if you call something against them so that they can learn from their mistakes.
- Be respectful to the coaches, participants and parents.
- At the end of every game, make sure that both teams high five or shake each other's hands as a sign of good sportsmanship.
- Make the games fun for the participants
- Before leaving, make sure that everything is put back properly and nothing is left out that should be put up. Time watches and ref shirts are not yours to keep! Please put them back where you got them!!! (Exceptions are if you provided your own).
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully accomplish this job, an individual must be competent in performing each essential duty. The person must be able to take initiative, have strong time management skills and work independently in performing the duties of Youth Referees. The person must have excellent human relation skills and be able to work effectively with staff members, volunteers and the public. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
