Job description

Are you a creative and organized go-getter that enjoys helping others learn, grow, and thrive? If yes, and you have a background in Aquatics and a passion for water - we want to meet YOU! This position will join a team of vibrant professionals and members, and apply their skillset to focus on: our local Swim Teams, Staff recruitment, safety protocols, collaborations, customer service, and program innovation.

  1. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors and healthy living practices.
  2. Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  3. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete along with all inservice standards being met.
  4. Monitors and maintains daily pool operations and chemical levels to adhere to all state, local and YMCA of the USA health and safety regulations.
  5. Conducts certification courses in American Red Cross courses. Teaches inservices in accordance with association policies and standards.
  6. Secures and schedules pool facilities. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels.
  7. Works with Executive Director on Aquatics budget creation and management.
  8. Maintains inventory and recommends purchases as needed.
  9. Assists in branch special events.
  10. Demonstrate strong listening skills to learn member interests and connect them with programs and experiences that will meet their needs.
  11. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
  12. Collaborates with the branch executive director to ensure the safe and responsible operation of the Y including rotating responsibilities for overall facility supervision & program coverage and actively participates in branch philanthropy efforts, special events, meetings and training sessions.
