Business Development Manager

Our client is a leading manufacturer of advanced underground water storage and treatment solutions, known for delivering innovative, engineered systems to civil, environmental, and municipal markets. With a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and product reliability, they are growing their presence across the Northeast and seeking a driven Business Development Manager to support that expansion.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving product specifications by identifying new business opportunities, developing long-term relationships with specifying engineers, and positioning the organization as a leader in underground water storage solutions. This role works closely with sales, marketing, and leadership teams to achieve strategic objectives. Territory includes New England, NY, NJ, and PA. Ideal home base locations include Philly, Albany, CT, or NJ.

DUTIES:

Business Development• Generate new business opportunities and product specifications through proactive outreach.• Conduct regular calls and meetings with engineering firms, design consultants, municipalities, developers, and regulatory agencies.• Deliver technical presentations, including lunch-and-learns and other educational activities, to support specification growth.• Secure product approvals and drive project conversions at the engineering level.

Sales Support• Partner with the sales team to support the successful sale of water-related products within the assigned region.• Collaborate on project specifications as they progress through the sales pipeline and assist with acceptance of project conversions.• Maintain accurate updates in the CRM and participate in monthly sales forecasting.• Contribute to strategic planning by monitoring market conditions, competition, and emerging opportunities.

Business Travel• Manage business development across a large multi-state territory, requiring frequent overnight travel.

REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred.• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience; 5–7 years preferred.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Demonstrated sales success with a solid technical background.• Experience with strategic planning and business development.• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.• Ability to travel 30-50% of the time.
