    Job description

    Job Summary:

    Under some supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse. Receive incoming goods; check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices. Accurately sort, label, store goods and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space. Pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders. Certified to operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.

    We are looking for a talented Customer Service and Warehouse Operator to join our Distribution business in (Wichita, KS).

    This is 100% onsite 

    Will make an impact in the following ways:

    • Receive, inspect, sort, label, store, pick, pack, and ship materials accurately and efficiently
    • Operate powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and pallet riders to support warehouse operations
    • Complete inventory transactions and maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems and business software
    • Perform quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials to identify damage, discrepancies, or non-conforming products
    • Support customer service and parts sales activities by assisting customers, processing orders, and responding to product inquiries
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
    • Collaborate with warehouse, parts, operations, and customer service teams to meet business and customer expectations
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, material flow, productivity, and employee development

      Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
      High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
      Requires certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc.) and/or other heavy machinery.
      This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 
      Experience: 
      Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.  

      Compensation and Benefits

      Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

    In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

    • Experience working in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, parts, or logistics environments
    • Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and warehouse equipment
    • Experience receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform inventory and quality control activities
    • Ability to use warehouse systems, scanners, computer applications, and inventory management tools
    • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to assist internal and external customers
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
    • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain required certifications
