Job description

About the Role:
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
This position is located at Republic Plaza, 370 17th St, Denver, CO 80202
The schedule is Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm, with flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed
Republic Plaza is a 56-story landmark in downtown Denver, offering premier office space in the heart of the central business district. The tower features an 18,000-square-foot collaborative workspace, a tenant-exclusive fitness center, and a curated mix of on-site retail, including Done Deal and Bubu by Chef Troy Guard. A stunning three-story lobby welcomes tenants and guests alike. Ideally positioned between 16th and 17th Streets, Republic Plaza delivers unmatched access, visibility, and prestige.
What You'll Do:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement timely repairs.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) and respond to alarms.
• Perform minor repairs including carpentry, painting, and basic facility upkeep.
• Maintain clean and organized mechanical rooms and work areas.
• Respond promptly to tenant service requests and work orders.
• Communicate effectively with tenants and property management to maintain high service standards.
• Support after-hours maintenance and tenant improvement activities as needed.
• Assist with operation and inspection of fire/life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency power).
• Participate in emergency response procedures and safety drills.
• Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
What You'll Need:
• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred.
• Experience in high-rise or Class A office buildings preferred
• EPA 608 Certification required
• Refrigeration Operator certification City and County of Denver or Stationary Engineer License (or able to obtain within 6 months)
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell)
• Experience using CMMS/work order systems preferred
• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
• Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Building Engineer position is $70,720 annually [or $34.00 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Engineer position is $89,440 annually [or $43.00 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
