Senior Executive Director - Bob Sierra YMCA & Camp Sierra
Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA
The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven leader to serve as the Senior Executive Director for the Bob Sierra YMCA and Camp Sierra-one of the most prominent and high-impact dual-facility operations in the Association.
This unique leadership opportunity oversees two thriving locations located less than half a mile apart:
  • Bob Sierra YMCA Campus- A large, full-service 48,000sf family center featuring a premier wellness center, robust personal training program, racquetball courts, outdoor pool, gymnasium, and a comprehensive group exercise offering.
  • Camp Sierra - A 15-acre program campus including multiple outdoor pools, a 18,000-square-foot state-of-the-art gymnastics center, lighted athletic fields, 30,000sf indoor gymnasium and program facilities that support a 400-participant summer day camp, after-school programming, licensed preschool, robust aquatic operation supporting competitive, development, and masters swim teams as well as lesson instruction and one of the largest sports programs in the Association.

Together, these facilities represent a combined operation exceeding $5.5 million in annual revenue, with significant opportunity for continued growth and expanded community impact.

The Tampa Y is a strong, growing, and well-respected YNAN Association, serving more than 300,000 individuals annually through a network of over 70 program and membership locations. The Association is financially stable and in an exciting phase of growth, with new centers opening and existing facilities undergoing renovation and expansion.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a strong track record in:
  • Proven track record in building and developing talented leadership teams
  • Multi-department operations and team leadership

  • Fiscal management and revenue development

  • Philanthropy and annual campaign leadership
  • Strategic thinking and execution across complex environments
  • Track record of providing exceptional program / membership services
  • Experience in wellness operations including equipment selection and purchasing

They will bring energy, vision, and commitment to the YMCA's mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Essential Functions
The Opportunity
The Senior Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of this complex, high-performing operation. This includes oversight of membership growth, program innovation, staff development, fiscal management, community engagement, and philanthropic advancement.
This role is supported by a highly talented and experienced leadership team, including senior program leaders and directors across aquatics, wellness, sports, membership, and youth development as well as a tenured Associate Executive Director.
In addition to center operations, this position will also play a key role at the Association level by providing strategic oversight of wellness programming and equipment initiatives across 14 locations, influencing approximately $2 million in wellness and personal training revenue. This dual scope offers a unique opportunity to lead both locally and across the broader organization.
