Behavioral Health Tech Supervisor

Lead With Purpose in Behavioral Health

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Tech (BHT) Supervisor to join our Asheville team. This leadership role combines direct client care with team supervision, ensuring a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment for both clients and staff.

As a BHT Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing daily operations, supporting Behavioral Health Technicians, and promoting high-quality care while maintaining compliance with program standards and therapeutic best practices.

Position Summary

In addition to performing Behavioral Health Technician responsibilities, the BHT Supervisor is responsible for supervising clients and Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts. This role ensures adherence to program protocols, supports staff development, and communicates operational or clinical concerns to leadership as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Staff Support

  • Supervise Behavioral Health Technicians and provide coaching and performance feedback

  • Train and orient new staff to the program and facility

  • Assist with interviewing and hiring BHT team members

  • Support employee development and corrective action processes

  • Develop staff schedules and coordinate training attendance

  • Conduct employee performance evaluations as applicable

  • Communicate effectively through verbal updates and written communication logs

  • Coordinate and attend BHT department meetings and facility meetings

Client Care & Program Oversight

  • Provide direct support and interventions with clients as needed

  • Ensure client and staff adherence to program policies and protocols

  • Assist with confiscation procedures and inventory management of client belongings

  • Coordinate daily activities including recreation, educational groups, and meetings

  • Support treatment goals and follow treatment plan objectives

  • Attend treatment team meetings and shift-change communications

  • Monitor department performance, identify training needs, and address client concerns

  • Complete required trainings and other assigned responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the BHT team

  • Conduct regular rounds throughout the facility

  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and therapeutic boundaries

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients and staff

Qualifications

Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous behavioral health, clinical, or healthcare experience preferred
Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities

  • Ability to assess situations and problem-solve effectively

  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and compliance standards
