Job description

Job Description
NOV is actively recruiting Test Technician to support the Conroe, TX Pilot Plant testing area, to assist in the setup, operation, maintenance, and recording of the NOV Equipment Systems for onsite testing applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Engineering, Sales, Leasing and Industrial in test and experimental set-ups at Conroe Test Facility and offsite customer locations as instructed by the Manger of Pilot Plant and/or Engineering.
  • Install, plumb and conduct and oversee equipment tests. Record data as directed in written and online test procedures for each test.
  • Mix and maintain drilling fluid as directed by the Pilot Plant Manager/test process while following all PPE requirements per SDS
  • Secondary responsibility for condition of test facility equipment, tools and servicing of the same.
  • Assist Sales, Leasing and Industrial with site visits to view proper equipment practices and maintenance for best process applications
  • Initiate commissioning of new equipment, oversee initial operation as requested, work with Engineering in proper process operation procedures.
  • Follow all safety and environmental policies and programs and perform routine inspections of the facility and equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Familiarity in the use of drilling equipment, considered an asset
  • Experience with mechanical / electrical tools and test equipment, considered an asset
  • Experienced in testing procedures in controlled laboratory environment, considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass background check, MVR "motor vehicle report", pre-placement physical, substance abuse testing

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work 12 hours on your feet (with lunch and 2 breaks)
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Ability to work alternate shifts if needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This is primarily an outside enclosure position and requires physical work with exposure to the elements.
  • This position requires shift work with a typical shift length of 12 hours, however, including change-over between shifts and attending required meetings, the average day may be longer.
