Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Electrician & Maintenance Technician will assist production and maintenance with achieving NOV's daily KPI goals by troubleshooting and maintaining production equipment, as well as provide training for production supervisors, operators and maintenance personnel on an ongoing basis. This role will also assist with operational activities that support the manufacturing process, by providing skilled mechanical and electrical / electronic support to all areas of manufacturing, while maintaining all NOV Quality and Safety measures.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Knowledge of electrical & mechanical controls
  • Calibrate various equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical & mechanical problems and/or equipment
  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Repair electrical equipment safely and as quickly as possible after a breakdown
  • Work on assigned projects
  • Install new equipment
  • Utilize safe work habits
  • Wear appropriate PPE
  • Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to read pressure gauges
  • Ability to work overtime and shift work as required
  • Ability to read labels on pipe along with specs on paper
  • Standing up to 12 hours daily
  • Walking up to 12 hours daily
  • Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily
  • Repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily
  • Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily
  • Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Good vision required for safe operation of forklift
  • Utilize recommended safe work habits and make use of all safety equipment provided
  • Assist with OJT (On Job Training) employees as needed
  • Work inside and outside
  • Assist where and when as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Electrical license, electrical controls experience and/or certification
  • Forklift license
  • Three years of verifiable work experience
  • Ability to read and design electrical prints
  • Ability to read, write and speak English preferred

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Computer, PLC hardware and software, inverter drivers, photo-eyes, proximity switches, counters, level sensors, controllers and any other equipment requiring a computer or controls basis interface.
  • Multimeter, Amprobe, and hand tools.
  • Forklifts, scissor or bucket lifts.
  • Safety harness, LOTO equipment and any other safety equipment required by NOV, FGS, and OSHA.
  • Electrical disconnects, subpanels, and main switchgear to aid in the troubleshooting process.
  • Familiar with all components capable of production and storing energy so the interaction of these components as it pertains to the production equipment and safety can be maintained and operated in a safe and productive manner
  • AC and DC controls
  • Programmable controllers
  • Knowledge of temperature controllers, electronic controllers, tachometers and PLC's
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
  • Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations
