Position Summary

Process Integration Engineer is a hands-on position for executing semiconductor detector process development, process integration and production activities in the fabrication of high-performance infrared and visible detector arrays based on HgCdTe and Silicon materials for high-end applications. This position requires working together with the wafer processing team in the cleanroom to sustain product performance and production yield.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process improvement and process integration in wafer fabrication that involves photolithography, wet and dry etching, annealing, doping, thin-film, metallization, microscopic inspection, and critical measurements.

  • Process monitoring, process control, and flow optimization that include inline process measurement and characterization and SPC data analysis to improve production yield and throughput.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional engineering team to solve material growth and processing issues, and to improve device designs, processing methods, and production capabilities.

  • Assurance of all production activities to be performed in accordance with the established manufacturing procedures, work instructions and workflow, and in compliance with work safety, cleanroom procedures and AS9100 quality standards.

  • Working with Manufacturing Execution system (MES) for process data recording, reporting, and tracking of production line efficiency.

Qualifications & Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual shall demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Strong background in semiconductor device design and manufacturing. Experiences in II-VI, III-V or Si materials and device fabrication are highly desirable.

  • Semiconductor process engineering and integration experiences with good understanding of processing techniques, device performance and reliability.

  • Proven experience in design of experiment, statistical data analysis, and manufacturing process control.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to details and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), layout tools, and statistical process control software.

  • Exemplary business ethics and work routine cognizant of safe work practices.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, material sciences or chemistry with minimum 5 years of experiences, or master's degree or higher with minimum 3 years of experiences.

  • Training in cleanroom operation and laboratory practices, including ESD training for handling of sensitive semiconductor devices.

Citizenship Requirements

Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.
