Job description

A Day in Life:

The Depot Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day execution of autonomous depot operations supporting Uber’s robotaxi fleet. This role ensures vehicles are charged, cleaned, inspected, staged, and operationally ready for autonomous service across a 24/7 operation.
Reporting to the Market Manager (General Manager), this position leads frontline depot supervisors and operators and serves as the operational control point between depot execution, technical maintenance, and field support teams. The role is critical to meeting vehicle trip readiness, uptime, and launch/steady state performance targets.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead all depot operations functions including vehicle charging, cleaning, inspections, staging, and dispatch readiness.
  • Manage and develop Depot Supervisors and Depot Operators supporting 24/7 coverage.
  • Ensure operational execution meets Uber Fleet Operations Standards for trip readiness and vehicle availability.
  • Coordinate real time vehicle flow between depot operations, maintenance, and field support teams.
  • Own shift staffing models, schedules, and labor deployment to meet operational demand.
  • Monitor depot KPIs including vehicle readiness, turnaround time, quality defects, and labor efficiency.
  • Ensure SOPs, standard work, and safety protocols are followed consistently.
  • Conduct quality audits, operational walkthroughs, and corrective action follow ups.
  • Partner closely with Service Manager and Field Support Manager to resolve operational constraints.
  • Support launch readiness activities and scaling as fleet size grows.

What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years of experience in depot operations, fleet logistics, warehouse operations, or automotive service environments.
  • 2+ years of people management experience in a high volume or 24/7 operation.
  • Experience supporting EV fleets, mobility operations, or technology enabled operations preferred.
  • Strong operational discipline with the ability to manage real time execution.
  • Proven ability to lead frontline teams, manage schedules, and deliver KPI performance.
  • Comfortable working in fast paced, evolving operational environments.
  • Proficient with operational systems, dashboards, and basic reporting tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Valid California driver’s license.

What You'll Get:
  • The starting salary range for this role is $90,000-$130,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
