Psychiatry - Child & Adolescent, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Needed in Reno/Lake Tahoe

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR MED) and the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Department is currently inviting applications for Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists who are board eligible/certified for outpatient and teaching positions.   These are full time, employed positions and rank is dependent on experience and background. 

We are a strong academic department and our education programs include Adult Psychiatry Residency, Child Fellowship, psychology internships and post doctoral fellows.   We have a strong collaboration with basic and clinical science and with other disciplines across the UNR campus.  This full time position will be focused on inpatient consultation and outpatient clinical work.  Our outpatient and hospital programs are highly regarded resident and medical student training sites.  Our primary clinical partner is Renown Health, but the department staffs several other hospitals and programs for both children and adults in the Reno/Tahoe community. 

We seek candidates who are flexible and comfortable providing consultation to medically ill patients with a variety of psychiatric and behavioral problems in different care settings.   Candidates must also have interest in working in the Department's outpatient faculty practice and training clinics.  These clinics are core training sites for medical students, residents and fellows, so the successful candidate will also be a dynamic clinical educator.   The mix of outpatient duties can be tailored to candidate interests.   The position does include a shared call coverage model, at approximately every 3 weeks and includes telephone coverage  only.

What we're Seeking:

• MD., DO or equivalent
• Completion of accredited residency and fellowship program
• Eligible for license and hospital credentialing in NV
• APBN certification or eligible
• BC/BE in Child Psychiatry
• Strong teaching as well as clinical skills and interest in scholarly activities
