Mobile Automotive Power Window and Glass Installation Technician

Summary and Description:

The Mobile Automotive Power Window and Glass Installation Technician (Installation Technician) is a key player in our business! The Installation Technician specializes in installing multiple types of power window and door parts including regulators, motors, switches, door lock actuators, and more in addition to windshields and glass. The Installation Technician is the face of our company and is responsible for delivering quality installations, speedy repairs, and excellent customer service! We will train! Compensation DOE.

Skills Necessary:

This position requires a technician that is mechanically inclined and enjoys working with his/her hands and mind. He/she must be in good physical condition, a good communicator, and a team player. A good attitude and perspective is absolutely essential! Must be a self-starter, motivated, reliable, flexible, and organized. Must enjoy people and driving! We are looking for a strong and enthusiastic candidate for this position! Candidates that have collision, glass installation, or professional automotive repair experience are a PLUS! Experience working with power tools is essential.

Summary of Tasks and Duties

  • Review and familiarize self with daily route. Inspect and load correct parts for daily route.
  • Follow a daily route using GPS or Google Maps to customer homes and workplaces to assure timely arrival within ETA time frames.
  • Communicate ahead of time and meet with customers at homes or workplaces and install scheduled repairs including rebuilt regulators, motors, switches, door lock actuators and more.
  • Collect payment from customers, communicate any repair issues that may come up in the field with customers and office staff, update notes in the calendar to reflect job status throughout the day.
  • Uphold Power Window Repair’s customer service standards and operational excellence in the field.
  • Restock parts, raw materials, and other vehicle inventory items as needed throughout the week.
  • Maintain an orderly work vehicle, uniform, tools, care for company property with diligence.
  • Assist with shop duties such as vehicle and shop maintenance, part rebuilding, and other shop duties, as needed and requested.
  • Load and unload inventory into vehicle at the beginning and end of the day.
  • Restock unused parts and appropriately delegate used parts to the proper areas for remanufacturing.
  • Communicate with diagnostic tech on routing, customer issues, and any other important occurrences throughout the day.
  • Drive safely, be a team player, and have fun!

Working Conditions:

  • Hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm or 8:00am - 5:00pm M-F and every second or third Saturday (overtime available as needed weekly)
  • Mobile service requires driving a full day throughout the Phoenix Metro area between jobs and beginning and returning to headquarters each day.
  • Company vehicle is supplied with tools, parts, and other needed items to perform job duties.
  • Company supplied phone is available to communicate with customers and staff and to navigate to jobs
  • Company shirts are provided for technicians
  • Smoking in vehicle is prohibited

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are mandatory, as the position requires the operation of vehicles and face-to-face contact with customers on a daily basis. These qualifications assure the safety of the employee, their colleagues, as well as our customers and other drivers on the road.

  • Must have automotive and/or glass installation experience
  • Must have and maintain a valid AZ Driver’s License and a clean driving record preferred
  • Must be of legal status in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
