Security Engineer
- Full-Time
SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing all data center information technology related security. Works in conjunction with the business logistics security administrator on items related to physical security controls, disaster recovery, risk management, and compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in all Network Systems Development design sessions to assure compliance with all Compu Data established and industry best practice security techniques.
2. Participate in all Network Systems Development standard procedures development to assure all compliance with all Compu Data established and industry best practice security techniques.
3. Review and approve all security related data center change management requests, along with those managers also affected by the requested change. Review subsequent test results of approved changes.
4. Review and approve all firewall change management requests. Review subsequent test results of approved changes.
5. Perform all daily audit logs pertaining to employee entitlements and VPN dial in connections.
6. Perform all weekly audit logs pertaining to resource access, currently defined as but not limited to successful or unsuccessful: network logons, HotFolder console processing and client disk file access.
7. Perform weekly audits to assure all company-wide anti-virus software definitions are current.
8. Provide company-wide framework for the continual focus on secure electronic data processing business systems.
9. Develop, publish and maintain all policies and procedures to support all preceding activities.
10. Manage all third party security assessments for information technology related systems and environments including both client and industry certification based audits.
11. Coordinate activities with the Director of Quality and Operational Initiatives: Disaster recovery, companywide risk management and incident escalation, company compliance, employee screening and training.
12. Coordinate and host the monthly executive Security Committee meetings.
13. Complete all client requested security audit questionnaires along with the Director of Quality and Operational Initiatives.
14. Participate as required in client on-site security audits along with the Director of Quality and Operational Initiatives.
15. Comply with company rules and regulations.
16. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
17. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce costs and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
18. Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
19. Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- College level business management courses or 3 years management experience.
- Four-year college degree in management information systems or related field.
- One to three years of hands on information technology security management, or equivalent.
- Industry recognized security certification preferred.
