Tech Support Engineer - REMOTE - 20-00157

Temp Remote Support Engineer needed for a remote short term contract with our client in Fullerton, CA.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• The Temp Remote Support Engineer is responsible for assisting the transition of office-based staff to work from home.
• Knowledge for installing, troubleshooting and maintaining a variety of products and equipment.
• Will be using Remote Control Software, such as Dameware and GoToAssist, as well as collaboration tools such as Zoom and WebEx.
• Will be installing and deploying the Cisco AnyConnect Software VPN Client, and using Remote Desktop Services (RDS, RDP) clients.
• Has experience troubleshooting home networks and ISP’s for home users.
• Candidates must have experience preparing and deploying desktops and laptops.
• This role requires critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and must be able to create, update, maintain, and follow process documentation.
• The successful candidate has excellent communication skills.
• Customer Support Representative (CSR) experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must own a laptop or desktop with the following capabilities:
  • Windows 7 with the latest updates or later version.
  • MacOS 10.12 or later, 64-bit processor.
  • Microsoft Remote Desktop Client.
  • Zoom.
  • Webcam and Speakers.
• Broadband Internet Connection.
  • Latency (Ping) <50 ms.
  • Download of 5 MB/s.
  • Upload of 2 MB/s.
• Phone.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Flexibility required.
• 2+ years’ experience working in IT with most recent experience at a junior level or higher.
• Experience maintaining and supporting domain joined desktops and laptops in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot in a multi-vendor environment.
• Strong reading, analytical, documentation and communication skills.
• Strong user facing customer service skills.
• Detailed Oriented (everything is double-checked / confirmed).
• Excellent communication skills.

• Project Experience working in a team.
• Experience in a Construction, Production, or Manufacturing environment.
