A workplace management analyst observes a company to develop strategies to improve overall operations. As a workforce management analyst, your primary job duties include interviewing staff, observing the team in action, reading through company manuals, and collecting information related to company finances and spending. You then analyze this data and help the management team develop a plan to improve staff performance. The career requires at least a bachelor’s degree, usually in business or human resources. Additional qualifications include strong communication skills and experience with data analysis. Though some workplace management analysts work for a single organization, many work as consultants for a variety of companies.

To become a workforce management analyst, you typically need at least a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, mathematics, or a related subject and relevant experience. However, employers increasingly seek MBA qualifications and candidates who achieve a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) certification. In this role, your duties include using both general and proprietary software systems to measure metrics and identify trends, and many employers look for software skills like IEX TotalView, NICE IEX WFM, or Avaya CMS systems. Because this position requires you to manage all workforce operations, including human resources, you need excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Some workforce management analyst jobs may also involve performing travel-related responsibilities, so the ability to travel as needed may be important for certain positions.
