Detailed Job Description:
Palo Alto Firewall Engineer with 5-8 years of hands-on experience in network security and firewall administration. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls and related security technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, manage, and support Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
Implement and maintain security policies, NAT rules, VPNs, and routing.
Manage Panorama for centralized firewall administration.
Monitor firewall performance, logs, and security alerts.
Perform rule reviews, policy optimization, and cleanup activities.
Troubleshoot connectivity and security issues.
Support security audits, compliance requirements, and documentation.
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and security teams for firewall changes.
Required Skills:
5-8 years of experience in network security and firewall management.
Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks Firewalls and Panorama.
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, NAT, VPN, SSL, and IPSec.
Experience with security features such as App-ID, User-ID, Threat Prevention, and URL Filtering.
Familiarity with change management and incident management processes.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Preferred Certifications:
Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification preferred.
Good to Have:
Experience with other firewall technologies such as Cisco Systems ASA/FTD or Fortinet FortiGate.
Knowledge of cloud security concepts in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
