Job description

Security Engineer

As a Security Engineer at Method Security, you will be instrumental in expanding the capabilities of our product, designing tools and workflows that enhance the AI-driven defenses our platform offers. This role requires a unique blend of security engineering expertise and software development skills to build features that turn complex security workflows into solutions our product can leverage autonomously. You'll work closely with developers and product teams to ensure that the tools and security primitives within our product empower users to handle diverse and evolving cybersecurity challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and extend defensive and offensive security-focused tools and workflows that enhance the effectiveness of our AI-driven platform.
  • Develop automated solutions within our product to streamline security workflows and enable intelligent responses to validated vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, leveraging Python and Go.
  • Develop and maintain range infrastructure leveraging Terraform and virtualization software for continuous testing and simulation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security capabilities that align with user needs and meet high operational standards.
  • Work with diverse security tools and develop integration points within our product, supporting comprehensive security workflows.
  • Communicate security principles, functionality, and outcomes to non-security stakeholders, helping them understand how the product's security capabilities protect critical assets.
  • Work directly with end users to ensure that Method is meeting operational needs and solving real world problems.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in an infosec organization, with strong familiarity with security workflows, tools, and automation.
  • Proficiency in software development, particularly in automating and expanding security workflows within a product. Experience in Python and Go is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with various security tools, such as networking and penetration testing tools, and integrating these within scalable product solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of advanced security workflows, including vulnerability management, incident response, and threat detection.
  • Ability to effectively communicate security-related features and their impact to non-security stakeholders.
Nice to Haves
  • Familiarity with container security, cloud security, or other infrastructure-focused security domains.
  • Familiarity with application security domains.

Base Salary Range: $140,000-$190,000
