Job Title: Security Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to administer and secure a GitHub Enterprise environment, align GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) configurations with enterprise security standards, and lead the migration of multiple code repositories into an enterprise GitHub tenant. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GitHub Enterprise administration, CodeQL, Secret Scanning, repository migration, and secure software development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) organization-level settings, including CodeQL and Secret Scanning, to align with enterprise security standards.
  • Administer and manage GitHub Enterprise organizations, repositories, teams, permissions, and security policies.
  • Track, monitor, and report on legacy security findings and technical debt reduction.
  • Lead the migration of 20 30 GitHub repositories into an enterprise GitHub tenant while preserving repository history, branches, permissions, and security configurations.
  • Support the adoption of the SNACK exception process for repositories following migration.
  • Configure and maintain GitHub Actions and integrate security scanning into CI/CD workflows.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to implement secure development practices.
  • Support Secure SDLC initiatives and improve repository governance.
  • Troubleshoot GitHub Enterprise issues and provide technical guidance to development teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+years of experience in Security Engineering, DevSecOps, or Application Security.
  • Hands-on experience administering GitHub Enterprise.
  • Strong experience with GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), including:
    • CodeQL
    • Secret Scanning
  • Experience performing large-scale GitHub repository migrations.
  • Strong understanding of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (Secure SDLC).
  • Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of repository governance, branch protection, and Git workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
