Virginia Pediatric Ophthalmology Specialists is currently looking for a medical billing specialist to submit claims to insurance, handle patient payments and collections, research claims and assist the office manager in accounts receivable. Experience in medical billing and working with health insurance is a must to assure an easy transition from current billing expert that is retiring. Education in medical billing is a plus but not required if applicant has prior extensive experience. Must have basic knowledge of working with computers and electronic medical records and must have a keen eye for detail. Position will likely be part-time at first but potentially can grow to full-time depending on the growth of the practice. Drs at the practice handle their own coding but a basic understanding of coding is helpful but not required.
