Due to MSG's continued growth in our Civil/Municipal Division, a new opening is available for a Project Engineer in Columbus, OH!
  • Work in conjunction with licensed design professionals assisting with the design and preparation of a variety of public and private development projects, including commercial, industrial, residential, energy, water/waste water and community projects throughout the Midwest. 
  • Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across a variety of service sectors including: Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Site Construction, etc.
  • Perform and check various design calculations and performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package. 
  •  Preparing front end feasibility documents, due diligence reports and zoning studies, project development, storm water modeling and design, cost estimates and detailed design plans. 
  •  Practical experience in design and plan preparation of site development projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture or related engineering field
  • EI certification in the state of Ohio, with the ability to obtain PE or PLA certification within 6 to 12 months.
  • Experience with researching and applying various agency design standards to civil engineering projects to successfully achieve approvals.
  •  Ability to apply guidelines and specifications. (i.e., City of Columbus and surrounding counties, ODOT, and etc.)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D grading and pipe networks as well as plan set preparation required.
  • Proficiency in independent preparation of Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports is preferred.
  • Roadway design and survey experience are a plus.
  • Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus.
  • The ability to engage reviewing agencies while preparing technical designs and addressing comments is a critical part of our process.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating and coordinating with review agencies.
