The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an EventOperations Manager. Reporting to theDirector of Event Operations, this position is responsible for assisting toproduce events as assigned after the events have been contracted and sold bythe Museum's sales team. The EventOperations Manager also provides administrative support to the Vice Presidentof Guest Experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates rental activities in theMuseum including communication among staff, vendors, and customer.
- Serves as the primary contact for theclient during the pre-planning and operation of the client's program post-saleand ensures the expectations of the client are exceeded to promote clientsatisfaction and account retention.
- Manages program changes, negotiating, andup-selling.
- Ensures deposits for program have beenreceived as contracted and billing is completed.
- Manages program summaries, depositinvoices, service agreements, and related correspondence.
- Cultivates ongoing relationships withprofessionals in the hospitality, travel, and convention industry in local,regional, and national markets.
- Uses and becomes proficient on the RentalsDepartment IT systems including the Museum's Outlook events calendar,Caterease, VIPER, Social Tables and Microsoft Office.
- Provides staff support to the VP of GuestExperiences for the Sales / Hotel / Centerplate meetings; provides overalladministrative support to the VP.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a hospitality relatedfield with a minimum of two years' demonstrated success in sales and marketing,preferably in the hospitality, travel, or conference industry or equivalentnumber of years in a related field.
- Experience with catering and specialevents coordination.
- Excellent verbal and written communicationskills; excellent interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Caterease, Excel, andSocial Tables preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedulethat goes beyond a 40-hour week including weekends, holidays, and evenings attimes.
