Miami Lakes Athletic Club is a 48,000 sq. ft. facility that offers a variety of exercise and workout equipment suitable for any level of athleticism. Miami Lakes Athletic Club is known for offering a variety of youth programs in a family-oriented atmosphere in both indoor and outdoor setting. The programs we offer encourages our kids to learn, grow, play, and have fun as they develop their abilities while participating in a well-organized and supervised group. Here at Miami Lakes Athletic Club, we pride ourselves in having year-round programs which allows participants to stay active and involved. Youth sports offers opportunities to play in leagues throughout the year. Because programs are so large, we register participants one to two months in advance. Here is a list of the major sport leagues.

We are looking for an energetic Tennis Camp Pro who enjoys working with children and teaching tennis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide safety and supervision to all program participants and ensure that tennis activities are planned and followed.
  • Maintain coordination with facility personnel for safety and benefit of participants in the program.
  • Ensure that safety rules and practices are followed as they relate to children and staff.
  • Complete and maintain accurate daily attendance.
  • Distribute and supervise lunch and snack time daily using universal health/sanitation practices.
  • Document behavioral issues and/or incidents daily, as needed.
  • Always maintain a high level of professionalism with parents, facility personnel, staff, and participants.
  • Uphold all Miami Lakes Athletic Club policies and Risk Management / Safety procedures which require reporting all incidents and accidents to the Youth Programs Director or Camp Assistant Director immediately.
  • Know and follow proper emergency procedures appropriate to the facility and in conformity with procedures adopted by the Miami Lakes Athletic Club to ensure the safety of children.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of equipment, supplies, and materials. Report to the Tennis Coordinator or Youth Programs Director when supplies are needed.
  • Provide regular inspection of areas used by the program to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training opportunities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Knowledge of tennis rules and or experience playing tennis
  • Have some coaching experience with children (preferred)
  • All required certifications, whether possessed at time of application or obtained after appointment, must be kept current to continue employment

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • experience in childcare / coaching children

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE

  • 1 year of experience coaching children in Tennis
  • Current Coaching Certification (USPTA, PTR or iTPA)
