Job description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a unique blend of health insurance expertise and strong IT/technical knowledge. This role requires exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to successfully lead complex healthcare technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end project management for healthcare IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Healthcare & Technical Integration
- Bridge the gap between clinical/operational healthcare needs and technical solutions
- Translate complex healthcare requirements into actionable technical specifications
- Understand health insurance processes, claims management, and reimbursement workflows
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders including operational staff, IT teams, executives, vendors, and external partners
- Facilitate effective communication across all organizational levels
- Conduct regular stakeholder meetings and provide transparent project updates
- Navigate competing priorities and negotiate solutions that satisfy multiple stakeholders
- Manage change management processes and drive user adoption
Team Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, healthcare professionals, and business users
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving
- Mentor team members and promote professional development
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required
- Agile/Scrum certification (CSM, SAFe)
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years of project management experience in healthcare IT environments
- Proven experience with health insurance operations, claims processing, or healthcare revenue cycle
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale IT implementations in healthcare settings
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT infrastructure, systems integration, and data management
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12)
- Knowledge of database management, cloud technologies, and software development lifecycles
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)
