WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Splashlight is looking for an On-set Photo Art Director for our New York studio. The primary role of the Art Director is on-set art direction of Photographers, Stylists, Hair and make-up artists, Models and other crew members.. The Art Director drives the set, keeping on pace while meeting and exceeding brand standards in a friendly, collaborative environment.

The Art Director reports to the Creative Director supporting the team's efforts to grow the business and create elevated solutions for clients. The Art Director will work closely with the Senior Art Directors, Associate Creative Directors and the Production team.

The ideal candidate is curious and passionate with extreme attention to detail. They must be an analytical problem solver who is very comfortable in a fast-paced and high volume environment. The Art Director is able to follow and give direction from multiple sources. They work to improve the quality of the work by studying, being proactive, evaluating processes and implementing approved changes quickly. They are able to project manage and prioritize between multiple projects.

For this role, previous experience on set with eComm product, editorial and video for fashion, apparel and/or fine jewelry is required.

Strong knowledge of, and proficiency with Google slides, castings and building presentations is necessary.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES?

• On Set art direction leading team with a lens of positive collaboration and mentorship to create high quality imagery while maintaining productivity

• Collaborative post-production image oversight

• Image quality control

• Creating and updating style guides inline with SPL standards

• Ensure that freelance creative team members closely follow Style Guides and on set Guidelines

• Continuously search for ways to improve best practices, image quality as well as team and client experience

• Collaborate closely with production and merch teams for on figure shoots

• Creating casting decks

• Represent Splashlight Creative Team in client facing meetings with other team members e.g.Sales, Studio Operations, Post and Production

QUALIFICATIONS

A great candidate will possess the following skills:

• 5+ years of experience as an On-set Art Director

• Experience working in e-commerce and/or editorial

• Enthusiastic, positive energy and able to work well under pressure with kindness.

• On-figure and still life fashion experience

• Strong knowledge of Capture One and on-set workflows

• Ability to adapt to an exciting, ever-changing environment in a thriving company

• Possesses a driven and committed work ethic

• Ability to positively inspire teams to the highest levels of quality and performance

• Strong collaborative skills with the ability and desire to work with a diverse group of people

• Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills

• Flexible and able to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Detail-oriented team player

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong knowledge of Google Suite applications

• Must be able to work as a local in New York City

The above represents the expected salary range for this role. Ultimately, compensation is determined by level of experience, location, and other job-related factors.
