The working location for this position is Pittsburgh, PA however candidates based in other U.S. locations will be considered. 

 

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Procurement Supplier Services team, the Supplier Integration Specialist is responsible for the full end-to-end integrated enablement of a supplier to the Ariba Network.   

 

Suppliers have multiple options to transact with their buyers on the Ariba Network. Integration, or electronic system to system transactions (via cXML, EDI, PIDX etc.), is one method. The Supplier Integration Specialist’s primary function is to manage multiple supplier Integration projects which might include facilitating the supplier’s onboarding and CIF or Punchout catalog enablement in addition to the supplier’s ERP integration.

 

The Supplier Integration Specialist will focus on partnering with cross-functional SAP Ariba supplier enablement teams, follow global and regionally defined processes, and use project management skills to proactively manage the projects until the buyer and suppliers are successfully ready for Production transactions.

 

Key tasks include dealing with both Customers and Suppliers of the Ariba Network and to integrate ERP’s of Suppliers with the Ariba Network based on the customers’ requirements, troubleshooting technical errors and working closely with Ariba clients over the phone. In addition, from a project management perspective, working with both Customers and Suppliers of the Ariba Network to drive the integration goals within given constraints and timelines.

 

This role requires a good understanding of business, project management and technical areas, and while this is not a programming, development role, or a project manager role, a sound understanding along with previous experience/knowledge in EDI and/or cXML eCommerce integration is a plus.  The SIS has the ability to analyze buyer requirements against supplier capabilities and provide consultation to all project parties as it relates to SAP Ariba supplier integration best practices.

 

The Supplier Integration Specialist uses a digital mindset to be a Procurement Supplier Services Ambassador throughout the enablement process by providing outstanding experiences in every interaction with our customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Focus

Assists all assigned suppliers in the completion of their enablement tasks, from the initial outreach phase, through integration testing, and until the supplier is ready to transact with the buyer on the Ariba Network.

Prioritizes strategic suppliers and strategic accounts based on record information in the system.

 

Sales

Assists all assigned suppliers in understanding key value adds for their specific industry and internal business objectives. Comprehend the art of selling value and adjusting language and approach for your audience. Discuss the integration options that best meet the needs of the suppliers.

 

SAP Ariba Solution Expertise

Knows Ariba Network and Supplier Enablement Automation features, understands the value of ecommerce and Ariba Network, and assists in the supplier education process with customer specific training guides

Understands integration and cXML and EDI basics.

 

 

 

Accountability

Executes project plan according to established timelines.

Responsible for defining and delivering integration projects to meet agreed upon target Go Live dates through 6 stages of the project: Planning, Design, Build, Testing, Deploy, and Technical Go Live.

Assist in resolving technical issues related to CIF and Punchout catalogs, the transmission of all electronic formats supported by SAP Ariba Supplier Integration (cXML, EDI, PIDX etc), including PDF and CSV documents on the Ariba Network, as well as issues related to syntax, structure, and validation against business rules.

Educate clients (buyers and suppliers) on integration functionality and deployment processes.

Responsible for providing status updates on individual supplier projects via the standard reporting tool.

 

Complexity

Manage multiple projects and organize workload based on various stages and complexity.

Ability to understand the SAP Ariba product portfolio and how they affect seller integration projects.

Consult with strategic suppliers on SAP Ariba integration strategy and integration best practices.

 

Teamwork

Works collaboratively with internal and external resources towards a common success.

Implements governance of projects by proactively escalating issues to immediate manager and project teams.

 

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required

3+ years exposure to business operation units such as sourcing, contracts, accounts payable, procurement, finance, or collections

Proficient in EDI (ANSI X12) and cXML integration

Previous experience with supporting or selling a technical or service delivery product

Proficient in using project management principles; meeting expected deadlines; project governance

Proven ability to adhere to customer timelines and proven success in working under pressure

Polished customer service skills and business acumen

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Project Management experience preferred

Fluency in French (Canadian) a plus
