Job description

RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Upper Extremity Orthopedic Surgeon to join our orthopedic service line in Northern New Jersey. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to practice in a high-volume, collaborative environment with an established referral base and strong institutional support.

The Upper Extremity Orthopedic Surgeon will provide comprehensive care for patients with shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions, including degenerative disease, traumatic injuries, sports-related pathology, and complex reconstructive procedures. Responsibilities will include diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical management, perioperative care, and ongoing follow-up, with opportunities to participate in clinical research and educational activities.

Our orthopedic teams utilize advanced diagnostic tools and surgical techniques to achieve excellent outcomes and enhance patient function and quality of life. This role also supports multidisciplinary collaboration with physical and occupational therapy, pain management, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure comprehensive patient-centered care.

Candidate Requirements:

  • BC/BE in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Upper Extremity, Hand & Wrist, Shoulder & Elbow, or related subspecialty preferred
  • New Jersey licensed or eligible for licensure
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in upper extremity conditions
  • Interest in clinical research and academic collaboration is a plus

Compensation: 

The anticipated salary range for this position if hired to work, is $400,000 to $800,000 per year.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
