Orthopedic Surgeon Position Overview: As an Orthopedic Surgeon at Vernon Health, you will provide expert orthopedic care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of conditions related to the upper and lower extremities. This includes trauma, degenerative disorders, nerve compression, congenital abnormalities, and general orthopedic cases. You will work with a multidisciplinary care team in our modern medical office building clinic and surgical suites, helping develop and expand Vernon Health's orthopedic specialty program to meet the needs of patients throughout Viroqua, Vernon County, and the Driftless Region.
Orthopedic Surgeon Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions affecting the upper and lower extremities.
  • Perform general orthopedic surgery cases in state-of-the-art surgical suites, including use of robotic equipment.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, nursing services, rehabilitation services, and other members of the patient care team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with Vernon Health standards.
Orthopedic Surgeon Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency program.
  • Valid Wisconsin medical license (or ability to obtain).
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
