Job description
• Schedule shipments with freight carriers, parcel services, and delivery vendors
• Monitor shipment status, track deliveries, and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or transportation issues
• Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records in company systems
• Verify orders, quantities, and shipping information for accuracy
• Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to prioritize shipments
• Communicate shipment updates, delivery timelines, and issue resolutions to customers and internal departments
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and shipping regulations
• Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation when needed
• Monitor shipping supplies and reorder materials as necessary
• Support continuous improvement efforts for shipping and logistics processes
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Preferred Skills - • Knowledge of freight, LTL, UPS, FedEx, and common carrier procedures
• Familiarity with inventory control practices
• Basic understanding of import/export documentation is a plus
• Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Qualifications - • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
• 1–3 years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or administrative experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
• Experience using ERP, WMS, or shipping software is a plus
