Bilingual/TESOL Teacher (Polish) - English Language Learner Teacher
Bilingual CT Educator Certification (009) pk-12 or Elementary Education Bilingual (902)/Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages CT Educator Certification (111) pk-12 is required.
The bilingual teacher will service the English language learning population at Linden Elementary School, Wheeler Elementary School and Toffolon Elementary School. Candidate must be bilingual and biliterate in Polish. The position will require traveling among schools on a flexible schedule for the purpose of meeting the needs of this diverse population. Additionally, the position requires working with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, ELL Equity and Student Support Specialist for the purpose of LAS Links testing coordination and on-going parent/teacher communication. The successful candidate will also serve as a resource and support to teachers so that students constantly improve their English language learning and acquisition.

- Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English and in the native language of students.
- Plan, organize, and provide instruction in verbal written skills.
- Designs lessons that provide an opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills in relation to authentic, real-world problems.
- Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
- Monitors and evaluates students' progress in relation to district/school curriculum policies and other planned goals and objectives.
- Encourages the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
