What You'll DoA Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing medical instruments and equipment used in surgery center. You will help ensure that surgical tools and medical devices are safe, functional, and ready for patient care.
Typical Duties
  • Decontaminate used surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Inspect, assemble, and package instrument trays
  • Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves
  • Track and document sterilization processes
  • Maintain inventory of sterile supplies
  • Ensure compliance with infection-control and safety standards
  • Deliver sterile instruments to operating rooms and clinical departments
  • Communicate with Reps for loaner trays
