Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and distribute designated supplies to assigned areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and instruments are available and ready for each surgical case.
  • Decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments in accordance with AMMI recommended practices.
  • Complete and verify accuracy of instrument count sheets.
  • Assist OR staff in locating and preparing instruments as needed.
  • Maintain permanent sterilization records for Surgery and other departments per regulatory standards.
  • Reestablish a clean and safe environment post-procedure, including room and equipment turnover.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical supplies and specialty equipment (e.g., laryngoscope blades, tubing, filters, ultrasound, fluid/blood warmers, specialty pumps, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of recent Sterile Processing experience required.
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) preferred.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.
