A state-of-the-art, non-profit, short term acute care facility located 1 hour east of Columbus is looking for a permanent Cytotechnologist (multiple shifts available). The Cytotech will prepare, exam, and provide diagnostic judgment on gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens received for cytology evaluation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates all cytology related equipment, processes GYN specimens, prepares non-Gyn specimens according to specimen type and characteristic, and assists on fine needle aspirates.
Keeps accurate records
Responsible for QA statistics
Maintains knowledge of CPT codes for professional billing
Provides assistance in area of Cytoprocessing
Performs other functions as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an accredited CT program, CT (ASCP) or registry eligible
Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, and investigative skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure in a complex and changing work environment
