Summary: 


 The Medical Director of the Laboratory delegates the performance of the following duties for moderate and high complexity testing.  These duties are to be performed with no direct supervision.  Direct review of the work is not required prior to reporting patient test results on a preliminary basis.  Final results issued after review by the Cytogenetics Director or Medical Director. 


 What you will do in this Role 


Chromosome analysis, FISH, short- and long-term tissue culture, harvesting 


Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement projects in the laboratory.  


Troubleshoots equipment, methods, and all aspects of the testing process to assure quality as assessed by quality control material. 


Directs research and development of new procedures and changes to existing procedures.  


Active in controlling operation costs, maintaining quality goals, and investigating possibilities for improving all aspects of the laboratory 


 Qualifications Needed 


  • Bachelor’s Degree 


  • Prior chromosome and/or FISH analysis is required 


  •  Tech in Cytogenetics CG is required
