Lead Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary
The Lead Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical supplies via the use of steam, gas, or chemicals The lead technician prepares treatment and procedure trays, wraps medical devices, and prepares surgical case carts. Maintains the sterile supply storage area and is responsible for receiving and distributing departmental supplies.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement : Completion of Central Service/Sterile Processing/Surgical Technician course or 1-2 years of Sterile Processing/OR experience.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement : Minimum of two years Experience in a sterile processing area or operating room. Demonstrated ability to utilize aseptic and sterile techniques normally acquired through previous work experience or formal course work/training. Previous supervisory experience in Central Service/Sterile Processing preferred.
c. Minimum License Requirement : Central Service or Certified Surgical Tech certification within one year.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
