Soft skills such as strong communication, empathy, and decision-making abilities are also crucial, as ICU nurses must effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, provide emotional support to patients and families, and make rapid, high-stakes decisions in high-pressure situations. Q: What is the career path for a ICU Registered Nurse?

A: A typical career progression for an ICU Registered Nurse involves starting as a Staff Nurse, where they gain hands-on experience and develop critical care skills, then advancing to Charge Nurse or Clinical Educator roles, where they take on leadership and teaching responsibilities.
