Job Summary:
HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their East Florida Division are seeking a Market Medical Director for their Treasure Coast Market. This is a full-time hospital-based position based at HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital serving as the Facility Medical Director; with additional oversight of: HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital, HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital, HCA Florida Highlands Hospital and affiliated free standing emergency centers. These hospitals offer an exceptional lifestyle with coastal living, outdoor recreation, and family-friendly amenities.
This exceptional leadership role incorporates administrative leadership responsibilities within the hospital and across the Treasure Coast market. Administrative duties include participation in committee meetings, scheduling, quality data control, workload distribution, and tumor board participation for the assigned market. Clinical duties include signing out anatomic pathology cases, frozen sections, FNAs, clinical lab oversight, test utilization oversight, and consultations.
The Market Medical Director builds effective working relationships with the administrators and pathologists at each assigned hospital. The successful candidate will have excellent team-building skills and the ability to mentor junior associates.
Practice Details:
  • Team: 1 pathologist + 1 pathologists' assistant
  • No autopsy or gyn-cytology responsibilities
  • Busy hospital setting with wide variety of case mix
Qualifications:
  • AP/CP Board Certification required
  • 3-5 years of hospital-based Medical Director experience (large or multi-hospital preferred)
  • Florida license or FCVS in progress
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Experience managing or mentoring pathologists
