Job Responsibilities:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.Current PTCB and State of WV Registration is preferred, or candidates must be able to pass the exams required by WV.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of prior pharmacy tech experience in a retail setting preferred.

- Assists pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
- Provides friendly and cooperative customer service.
- Enters patient data accurately.
- Answers telephones quickly and with courtesy.
- Operates the cash register and rings sales.
- Pulls and counts medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
- Participates in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
- Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
- Maintains accurate and complete patient records.
- Assists in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking, pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.
- Removes, picks up, and/or delivers drug orders if necessary.
- Informs patients of any notations on prescription bag.
- Informs the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications, interactions, and allergies.
- Enters and maintains non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.
- Verifies NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.
- Participates in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.
- Issues supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.
- Pre-packs and documents medications accurately as needed.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Program.
- Works cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
- Remains free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.
- Completes required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
