Job Title: Healthcare SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test)
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Healthcare SDET with strong experience in payer systems, EDI transactions, and test automation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the SDLC, healthcare data standards, and hands-on experience validating complex healthcare workflows in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases across the SDLC.
  • Validate healthcare EDI transactions such as X12 837 (claims) and 835 (remittance).
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Perform database validation and backend testing.
  • Analyze defects, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory standards.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience as an SDET or QA Engineer in healthcare payer systems.
  • Expertise in EDI/X12 transactions (837, 835).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies & SDLC.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with databases and backend validation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
