Job description

Job Title: Systems Software Programmer – Advanced ( 10925)
Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Interview Process: 1 Round – Virtual
Work Requirements: Candidate must currently reside in South Carolina or be willing to relocate before project start at their own expense
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as SQL Database Administrator and Senior Developer for enterprise Child Support applications
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications and database integrations using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Develop reports, vendor exports, and support data warehousing initiatives
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, profiling, cleansing, and analysis
  • Lead interface design, testing, validation, and implementation activities
  • Coordinate with State IT staff and Federal partners for data exchange procedures
  • Monitor and troubleshoot nightly batch processing and production interface issues
  • Conduct code reviews, technical reviews, and logical reviews
  • Monitor database growth trends and recommend optimization and normalization strategies
  • Design and develop reporting solutions using Microsoft PowerBI
  • Support enterprise data governance, architecture, metadata, and stewardship initiatives
  • Oversee and monitor Software Development Vendor activities and deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with data retention, audit, and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, executives, and external partners

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA
  • 5+ years of large system architecture experience
  • Large-scale production system implementation experience
  • Experience overseeing Software Development Vendors
  • Strong expertise in:
    • MS SQL Server
    • TFS (Team Foundation Server)
    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2022
    • C#
    • ASP.NET / .NET
    • PowerShell

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Child Support Enforcement system design and development
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
