ETL Developer / PL/SQL Specialist – Informatica (On-Prem & Cloud)
Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer / PL/SQL Specialist with 9–10 years of experience in enterprise data integration and data warehousing environments. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in PL/SQL development, strong experience with Informatica (On-Prem and Cloud), and the ability to act as a functional consultant by engaging directly with business stakeholders. The candidate will also provide technical oversight to offshore teams, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with architectural and performance standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and implement complex PL/SQL solutions, including stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and dynamic SQL.
  • Perform advanced SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies to support large-scale data volumes.
  • Ensure database design and code adhere to best practices for scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data, performance, and integrity issues within the database layer.
ETL & Data Warehouse Integration:
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL solutions using Informatica PowerCenter (On-Prem) and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Build and optimize Informatica mappings, workflows, mapplets, and transformations for complex Data Warehouse environments.
  • Support data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes across multiple source systems and targets.
  • Participate in on-prem to cloud migration initiatives and hybrid ETL architectures.
  • Ensure data quality, validation, reconciliation, and audit controls are embedded in ETL processes.
Business Engagement & Functional Consulting (Approx. 25% Customer-Facing):
  • Act as a functional/technical consultant by engaging directly with business users and stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and clarify business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications and ETL designs.
  • Support requirement walkthroughs, solution reviews, and design discussions with business and technical teams.
  • Proactively identify data-related risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities aligned with business objectives.
Delivery Oversight & Offshore Coordination:
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance to offshore ETL and database development teams.
  • Review ETL designs, PL/SQL code, and implementation deliverables to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices.
  • Ensure offshore deliveries meet project milestones, quality expectations, and performance benchmarks.
  • Assist in resolving complex technical issues and support knowledge transfer across teams.
Operational & Support Responsibilities:
Support production ETL jobs and database processes, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
Participate in deployment planning, release activities, and post-production support.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including data mappings, ETL design documents, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 9–10 years of experience in ETL development, data warehousing, and database engineering.
  • Expert-level experience with PL/SQL, including dynamic SQL, performance tuning, and complex database logic.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter (On-Prem).
  • Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehouse architecture, ETL patterns, and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience working with Oracle or similar enterprise relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and batch scheduling tools.
