Job Summary:

As a data analytics associate, you will collaborate within the Human Capital Management Group to collect, manage, and analyze financial and workforce data. The role centers on delivering meaningful, actionable insights drawn from market and internal data to help underserved businesses make informed decisions and achieve better workforce outcomes.

What You’ll do:

  • Collect and clean data from internal and external sources.
  • Integrate, migrate, and aggregate large data sets from business and public sources.
  • Benchmark organizational and market data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for client businesses.
  • Compile and interpret data into clear, visual reports with actionable recommendations, highlighting areas for strategic improvement.
  • Create dashboards and charts using Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to deliver insights, not to establish or define business KPIs or goals.
  • Collaborate in weekly meetings to present findings; engage clients and stakeholders for feedback and context.
  • Ensure robust data security and comply with all privacy requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related fields.
  • Experience or knowledge of data analysis and working with data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Attended weekly meetings and maintained flexibility to support client workload and assigned planning tasks.
  • Fully remote — no travel required. Preference for candidates located in New Jersey.
  • This is a volunteer, unpaid position supporting HCMG’s community impact work.
  • A dependable computer and internet connection, along with a strong commitment to upholding HCMG’s data privacy and confidentiality standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions for data cleaning, integration, migration, and aggregation of large datasets.
  • Certifications like CAP, AWS certified data analytics, COMP TIA Data+, etc. are highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in Python for data manipulation and analysis, as well as familiarity with SQL for database management, especially focused on consolidating and benchmarking diverse data sources.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated skill in benchmarking organizational and market data to identify strategic opportunities or risks for clients.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Teams for collaborative analysis, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong commitment to data quality, security, and confidentiality throughout all analytic processes.
