Substitute Teacher Procedures

 

Substitute Teacher

 

Full Day $110

 

Half Day $55

 

Step 1 Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent of a high school diploma.  

 

Step 2  Complete an employment packet with the school district.  

 

This packet can be picked up and dropped off at the Hillsdale Board of Education Office:  479 Township Road 1902, Jeromesville, OH 44840

 

Step 3 Schedule an interview with the Superintendent or Designee.  

 

Call Becky Austin:  419-368-8231 to schedule an appointment.  

 

Step 4 Complete a background check.  

 

Substitute teachers must complete a BCI and FBI background check.  

 

The cost of the background check is approximately $70 for both the BCI and FBI.

 

Background checks can be completed at Tri-County ESC, Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center, or Mid-Ohio ESC.  All background checks must be electronically sent to the Hillsdale Local School District and electronically sent to the Ohio State Board of Education.
