Software Developer - Code Signing

This role has been designated as 'Edge', which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.

Job Description:

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software code for feature enhancements and/or new product functionality for the HPE Code Signing Service. Software development includes application modules, tools, Rest API and CLI. Will participate in finalization of SPEC requirements for cryptographic signing strategy and code signing tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow HPE processes for defect life cycle and build/release requirements.
  • Follow current coding standards; document, communicate, and implement in a timely fashion any required enhancements that are discovered during development, test, and integration - these changes are to be applied while enabling common source sharing
  • Participate in finalization of SPEC requirements for cryptographic signing strategy and code signing tools
  • Provide POC and Demonstrations as needed to help finalize requirements with usage of HPE agreed upon design tools
  • Weekly status report required - Provide HPE with progress against agreed to schedule
  • Quality focused with constant attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts at all levels of HP management
  • Assertive and self-driven that ensures timely and successful completion of all assigned tasks across multiple simultaneous programs.
  • Key deliverables
  • a. Develop and/or revise code signing application code - Source code check-in at defined repository(s) - Perform all necessary design and code reviews with Team Lead. Produce Code review sheet for coding activities
  • b. Update Defect tracking system with relevant information - Communicate issues/requirements via defined defect tracking system and e-mail. Meet mutual agreed fix needed by dates for app service defects
  • Development Test - Defect simulation, analysis and defect fixing; including test scripts
  • Update user documentation as needed


Education and Basic Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent
  • Applicant must be a US citizen
  • Minimum of 4 years of applicable technical experience with minimally basic experience with the following:
  • a. Security minded with experience in best practices code design and Server based (HW and OS) hardening
  • b. Programming Language: Python/Python Microservices and Golang
  • c. Database: SQL and MongoDB
  • d. Kerberos Authentication protocol
  • e. OS: Server (Linux and Windows) and Client (MAC OS X, Linux and Windows)
  • f. Malware scanning protocol and tools
  • g. Rest API
  • h. CLI


Preferred Qualifications: Basic experience with following
  • Signing Tools: Linux, Mac OS X and Windows versions
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technologies: Certification Authorities, LDAP Directories, HSMs, OCSP, and the standards relating to them
  • Deploying/maintaining PKI technologies (CAs and Directories) including HSMs
  • Docker/Containerization and OAuth2/OpenID
  • Industry standard security frameworks (ex. ISO 27001:2013, NIST, and/or Webtrust standards)
