Pharmacist

Summary: Must be competent in the assessment, calculation and recommendation as to medication therapy, use and dispensing to the following age groups of patients: Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult and Geriatric.

Compounds and dispenses medicines and preparations according to prescriptions written by physicians, dentists and other practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Furnishes information concerning medications to physicians and nurses. Assists in maintenance of pharmacy inventory. Assists in supervision and appraisal of pharmacy employees. Perform related duties.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia, or eligible for full licensure within 90 days through reciprocity or exam
  • Licensure in the State of Georgia
  • Some previous experience as a Registered Pharmacist is desirable
  • Must be familiar with professional and commercial phases of pharmacy
  • Understands the role of the Pharmacy Department in the hospital and its inter-relationship with other departments
