SUMMARY

The EMS Instructor develops and implements all aspects of instruction for Paramedic and/or EMT programs within the Grady EMS Academy. This position ensures that the department's mission, core values, and clinical standards of care are maintained through the education provided to students. Coordinates with the Program Director for lesson plans and to ensure timely and appropriate delivery of scheduled education. Teaches from a customized lesson plan and assesses student practical skills, provides positive and timely feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 60 college credits or Associates degree in Health Sciences, EMS, or related field is required.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree preferred.
• Two years of EMS teaching experience is required.
• Three years of EMS field experience is required.
• Current Georgia Paramedic license required.

PRN staff are required to work aminimum of three (12 hour) shifts per schedule, yet hours are based on theneeds of the unit(s) and are not guaranteed. (Length of shifts may vary) PRNstaff may sign up in advance based on the needs of their home unit or otherunits within the department and may also be called when needs arise. PRN staffmust be flexible with regard to floating to other areas within the departmentas needed. They are considered the first to float in order to assure safestaffing requirements across the nursing units.

Weekend Requirements: One (1) weekend shift per 4- week schedule.(Friday 7pm - Monday 7am)

Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) holidays per year: Onemajor (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's) and one minor (Memorial Day, July4th , Labor Day or Martin Luther King Day).
